Travelling out to Prague for the World Cup finals David scooped bronze medals in both C1 and C2 canoe slalom classes.
Talking after the event on the 14th of August, he had this to say, “I had a great weekend at the World Cup finals in Prague winning medals in both C1 and C2. It’s the second time I’ve managed to ‘double up’ on medals in C1 and C2 and I was delighted to be on the podium in both events.
“The course set for finals was tough with lots of hard downstream gate combinations, but the weather was good, there was a fantastic crowd and great commentary blaring out all weekend. The races in Prague are known for a great atmosphere, with lots of spectators right next to the water lining the riverbank.
“I put in solid performances over the three days of racing and was very pleased with the reward of two bronze medals. That puts me into double figures now having won my tenth World Cup medal! I’m really happy with my achievement”.
David has returned to Bratislava to put in final training before the World Championships which will take place 7th to 11th of September.
