Following the GBR selection race, this is the first major competition of the season. The European Championships will take place in Spain at La Seu d’Urgell on the course used for the Barcelona Olympics.
David travelled out to Spain last week in order to practice on the course prior the competition. The European Championships are a very tough race as most of the world’s top slalom canoeists are European. The course, unusually, is in the centre of the town, situated in the Catalan Pyrenees which makes it a popular venue with competitors and spectators.
Racing takes place between the 8th and 12th of June and David will be competing in C1 and C2 classes.
