A busy few weeks has seen Izzy competing against the best in the world at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta and most recently at the World Championships in Denmark.

At the Sail for Gold Regetta, which took place in Weymouth at the 2012 Olympic venue, Izzy took part in her first senior medal race for Team GBR and proved her worth with a top ten place. A considerable achievement considering Izzy’s young age and the event, of which the RS:X windsurfing class was one part, attracted over a 1000 entries from 57 nations across all classes.

In Denmark, the World Championships took place at Kerteminde between 27th August and 4th September, which saw Izzy pitted against an outstanding field. Sailing really well Izzy made the Gold fleet – the top half of sailors in the competition and she finished the races a respectable 32nd out of a total of 66. However, her achievement really shone when her results were converted to the U21 class, showing that she’d won the bronze medal for her age group.

Now back home she is training to defend her title at the RS:X Class Youth World Championships which are to be held in Cyprus in October.
