Laura set for Delhi

An excited Laura has been chosen to represent England at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi this October.

Laura is ranked top of the UK’s women’s triple jumpers, but realises that the competition from the Commonwealth countries, particularly Jamaica, will be very challenging. She is now into a period of hard training to prepare herself for the event. The Games will take place between the 3rd and the 14th of October.

Previously, Laura competed at the UKA McCain Jumps and Throws Fest in early August, at Barnett. Not everything went to plan with a series of no-jumps leaving her best jump of 12.94m only good enough for 5th place. Following this competition Laura decided to enter the Aviva London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on 13th and 14th of August, rather than the Bedford International Games. This gave Laura some fantastic experience at competing at senior level, although she didn’t jump her best.

Laura will fly out to India a week before to acclimatize and complete training ahead of the competition.
