Kerry is training with Team GB Sprint Kayak squad after being selected in a talent drive.
Sprint Kayak is actually a new sport for Kerry, who is more at home paddling surf canoes as an RNLI lifeguard, or rowing Cornish gigs around the coast of her home town of Penzance.
In October 2008 Kerry entered a UK Sport event to identify potential Olympians. Initially entering to support a friend, Kerry found herself one of only seven women to make it through the assessment programme out of a total of 900 entrants! She now splits her time training at the National Water Sports Centre and in Cornwall.
Kerry will be working towards races at 500m and 1000m, but is currently concentrating on developing her technique before embarking on any competitions.
